We Were Here Tomorrow launches October 20 with a practical demand on your gaming plans: bring a partner you want to solve puzzles with. Final Fantasy Resonance follows on October 22, and its latest preview offers a different kind of preparation: think about what you want each party member to do before picking their abilities.
The useful connection is how you divide responsibilities. One game asks two people to combine different information; the other lets you shape a party through equipped Visions. Neither decision is captured by a release date alone. Here's what to settle before making room for either game.
Agree on how you'll tackle co-op
Xbox Wire's release schedule lists We Were Here Tomorrow for October 20. The PlayStation Store listing confirms that date for PS5 and describes two roles with different tools and information. This isn't simply a question of having another player nearby: your partner has part of what you need to work out the solution.
Total Mayhem Games' overview explains the same setup through the players' walkie-talkies and individual tools. Describing what you see and sharing what you know are central to progression. That makes communication a better starting point for your purchase decision than whether a screenshot looks inviting.
My suggestion is to agree on a small rule before you begin: describe the evidence before proposing a solution. If one player jumps straight to instructions, the other can end up following orders without understanding the puzzle. Give each person time to explain their side, then make a plan together. That's a way to approach the advertised design, not a claim that we've tested its puzzles.
Also decide how you feel about hints. You don't need a strict no-guides pact, but agreeing when to look something up can spare you a frustrating conversation halfway through a session. Pick a time when neither person feels rushed.
Give your Final Fantasy party a purpose
PlayStation Blog's October 20 look at Final Fantasy Resonance focuses on equipping Visions to change characters' combat capabilities. Square Enix's earlier explanation also describes gaining abilities through equipped Visions. Both point to the October 22 PS5 release.
The practical takeaway is to treat a familiar character as an invitation to inspect an ability set, rather than an automatic best choice. Start with a job you want covered: recovery, disruption or damage. Then ask whether a new Vision helps that character fill the gap, or simply adds more of something the party already handles.
You can still pick favourites. The useful habit is to change one thing at a time, then notice whether the next battle feels easier to manage. That gives you a reason to keep a combination beyond recognising the character attached to it.
| Release date | Game | Plan before you play |
|---|---|---|
| October 20, 2026 | We Were Here Tomorrow | Choose your co-op partner and agree on how you'll share clues and use hints. |
| October 22, 2026 | Final Fantasy Resonance on PS5 | Give each party member a purpose before experimenting with Visions. |
These are release dates, not promises of one worldwide unlock time. Check your own storefront before arranging a session. Reserve shared time for the game that needs another person, and leave yourself room to experiment with the party you control.
