KOEI TECMO America and Omega Force put Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered on store shelves and storefronts today, October 1, 2026. The remaster packs the original Dynasty Warriors 3 campaign and the Xtreme Legends expansion into one Unreal Engine 5 rebuild for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with a free demo already live for anyone who wants a Hulao Gate stress test before spending.
Launch trailers and press copy cover the nostalgia beat. The useful layer for console buyers is narrower: which platforms are actually shipping, how Standard stacks against Digital Deluxe on Xbox’s listed prices, what Classic Settings change, and which features are day-one versus promised later. That is the map below, drawn from KOEI TECMO’s Oct 1 Games Press release, the official product site, and the Xbox Store listing.
Platforms, price, and editions

Every major current living-room lane is covered. There is no separate Switch 1 SKU in KOEI’s launch materials; Switch 2 is the Nintendo target. On Xbox’s U.S. storefront, the standard digital edition is listed at $39.99, with Digital Deluxe at $69.99. KOEI’s earlier June announcement described Deluxe as the base game plus a large weapons set, Six Secret Teachings / Wind Scroll / Tiger Amulet items, an officer concept-art collection, and a set of 42 retro costumes based on the original look. Exact regional store pages can still differ on tax and currency, so confirm the SKU you are clicking before checkout.
| Edition / lane | Platforms (launch materials) | U.S. digital price (Xbox Store) | What KOEI highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam | $39.99 | Full remaster of DW3 + Xtreme Legends content in one package |
| Digital Deluxe | Same multiplatform set (digital) | $69.99 | Base game plus weapons / item / art / retro-costume extras per KOEI June SKU breakdown |
| Free demo | Same platforms as the full release | $0 | Battle of Hulao Gate (Allied Forces); six playable officers |
What is new versus “Classic Settings”
Omega Force is not pretending this is a pixel-perfect archive build. Evasion, Just Evasion, Perfect Power Guard, Weapon Fusion, and new condition-locked scenarios sit on top of the returning True Musou and offline split-screen co-op foundations. The important owner control is that new systems can be toggled individually, or flipped in bulk with Classic Settings for something closer to the early-2000s feel versus Normal Settings as the remaster recommendation.
| System | Day-one status | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| DW3 + Xtreme Legends content | Included | One purchase covers the base campaign and the expansion scenarios KOEI lists for officers such as Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao |
| Evasion / Just Evasion / Perfect Power Guard | New; toggleable | Modern defensive layer on top of the old Musou cadence |
| Weapon Fusion | New; toggleable | Consume spare weapons to move elements and skills onto keepers |
| Classic vs Normal presets | Day one | Bulk path for purists vs remaster defaults without hunting every checkbox |
| Offline 2-player split-screen | Returns day one in Musou / Free / VS | Couch co-op without waiting on the online update |
| Online 2-player co-op | Post-launch (timing TBA) | Announced at the TGS 2026 stage; KOEI says details come later |
| Ziluan (Dynasty Warriors: Origins) | Playable guest officer | Crossover draw for Origins owners, not a separate Origins campaign |
Demo checklist before you buy
The free demo is the special scenario Battle of Hulao Gate (Allied Forces). KOEI lists six playable officers for that slice: Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhen Ji, Zhou Yu, and Sun Shangxiang. Difficulty and language can be adjusted, and the studio notes that meeting certain conditions can put a notable opponent at the end of the stage. If you care whether the remastered cadence feels right on Switch 2 handheld versus a big-TV PS5 or Series X session, the demo is the cheapest way to answer that before Deluxe’s extra $30 becomes a question.
Pre-order leftover context still appears on some store pages. Xbox’s listing, for example, still describes a Retro-Style Red Hare Saddle tied to the pre-order window. Treat that as a storefront leftover unless your receipt shows the entitlement; launch-day buyers should not assume every pre-order cosmetic remains open.
Who this launch is for
Buy Standard if you want the complete DW3 / Xtreme Legends package and plan to live in Normal or Classic presets without cosmetics. Consider Deluxe only if the weapon / costume / art bundle is something you will actually open. Wait for the online co-op patch if couch split-screen is not enough and networked duo play was your main reason to return. And if you are unsure the UE5 remaster keeps the old weight, download the Hulao Gate demo on the platform you expect to keep — progress there is a taste test, not a full-campaign save promise spelled out in the launch release.
