Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School's first reviews give you two reasons to look beyond the score: several critics praise its escape-room puzzles, while reports of campus stuttering complicate the recommendation. Our five-review sample produces an NGC Rating of 74, with individual scores ranging from 6/10 to 8.3/10.

The useful question is whether you want exploration between puzzle rooms, and how much technical friction you're willing to tolerate. Critics disagree about the first part. Their reports about performance deserve a separate check on your own hardware before buying. This roundup synthesizes published reviews; we haven't tested the game ourselves.

What the five scores represent

Scores behind the NGC Rating
Critic / platformOriginal scoreScore /100Normalized bar
Video Chums (PS5)8.3/1083
GameSpew (PS5 Pro)8/1080
Pizza Fria (PC)7.9/1079
Noisy Pixel (PC)7/1070
Insider Gaming (PS5)6/1060

The unweighted average is 74.4 out of 100, rounded to 74. Each critic counts once. Scores and review text were verified on November 5, 2026, at 9:56:28 a.m. PT. This is a small sample of overall game reviews, not a frame-rate benchmark or a reproduction of an aggregator's score.

Two reviews cover PC, two cover PS5, and one covers PS5 Pro. No verified Xbox review is included. Those groups are too small, and the reviewers' priorities too different, to establish which version is best. Video Chums' original review text and score were available through indexed search, although its page blocked direct retrieval.

The campus divides opinion more than the score suggests

Insider Gaming and Noisy Pixel both find satisfying puzzle-solving in the dedicated escape rooms. GameSpew also praises the variety of logic challenges. For someone chiefly interested in working through clues, that is the clearest positive thread across this sample: the central appeal survives the move into a larger setting.

But “the puzzles are good” doesn't tell you whether the surrounding structure suits you. Noisy Pixel enjoys the interconnected campus and its traversal, while Video Chums likes the sidequests, shortcuts and sense of progression. Their accounts suggest that wandering between rooms can be part of the attraction rather than merely time spent waiting for the next proper puzzle.

Pizza Fria makes the disagreement especially useful. Its reviewer favors campus exploration but finds the main-room puzzles repetitive. That reverses the simplest reading of the other reviews. It would be misleading to call the campus universally disliked, or to claim that every critic agrees the dedicated rooms are the strongest part.

For your decision, separate those preferences. If you like poking around a space and returning with a better understanding of it, the favorable exploration accounts matter. If you prefer a concentrated sequence of self-contained challenges, the time between rooms is something to examine in the longer reviews. An average cannot settle that difference in taste.

Check performance separately from puzzle quality

The technical concern is more consistent. GameSpew reports stutter and slowdown around the campus on PS5 Pro, while finding the individual rooms generally smoother. Noisy Pixel similarly describes open-area frame drops on PC that aren't present in the dedicated rooms. Insider Gaming and Pizza Fria also report campus stuttering or freezes on their reviewed versions.

That distinction matters because a game can feel responsive during a puzzle and still frustrate you while moving between challenges. It also means the score table shouldn't double as a platform buying guide. These are reports from particular review builds, not measurements taken under identical conditions, and they don't establish whether subsequent updates have resolved the problems.

If performance interruptions bother you, look for current evidence on your exact platform before committing. If exploration is the bigger question, read one favorable campus assessment alongside one more critical account. Choose around the experience you want between escape rooms, then check whether the version you'll actually play delivers it smoothly.
