Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Is Live: Echoes, Most Wanted, and the $14.99 Owner Fork

Ghost of Yōtei’s first anniversary week is no longer a countdown. The Complete Edition is live on PS5 as of October 1 in most regions (October 2 in parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand), folding the campaign, Legends co-op, the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion, and the Most Wanted combat-survival mode into one storefront SKU. Sucker Punch’s August PlayStation Blog post set the prices and contents; the October 2 Erika Ishii interview is the studio’s day-after victory lap for Atsu’s return.

Owners who already finished the base game do not need another $70 box art. The useful fork is between the $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade and the free October patch that still lands for everyone. Newcomers shopping the full set should know exactly what $69.99 buys before checkout.

Echoes of Sekigahara vs Most Wanted

Echoes of Sekigahara is the narrative expansion. It splits between present-day Ezo and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland, introduces Nagato as a figure from her past, and opens a previously unseen valley once tied to The Snake’s Vipers. Sucker Punch also flags new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes inside that campaign slice.

Most Wanted is the single-player combat survival mode, described as the studio’s spin on a roguelike. Runs start from bounties; clearing enemies earns perks and unlocks additional playable characters. The announce trailer and Blog post highlight Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with the kusarigama, and Nagato with a yari. Ishii told PlayStation Blog the mode includes new dialogue and a more mystical, non-canonical tone, and that Jin returns with fresh lines from Daisaku Tsuji.

Anniversary context from Erika Ishii

In the October 2 PlayStation Blog interview, Ishii said she came back months after the original campaign recordings for Echoes, had pitched story ideas the team did not use, and still got a romance beat she had wanted for Atsu. She also confirmed new Most Wanted dialogue and described the anniversary Complete Edition drop as the real one-year celebration after guessing the launch date almost exactly.

For PS5 owners who skipped Yōtei at launch, the Complete Edition is the clean entry: one purchase, Legends included, both major 2026 additions unlocked. For owners who already own the game, the $14.99 Upgrade is the paid decision, and the free patch is worth installing either way. QSSR AI upscaling for base PS5, patched in on October 1 for Yōtei and Marvel’s Wolverine, is a separate graphics option for base-console owners and is not bundled as Complete Edition DLC.
