Gundam Rogue Orbit Hands-On: Bandai’s Flashy Mech Action Targets March 5, 2027

Gundam Rogue Orbit editorial

Bandai Namco’s new Gundam spin is less lore exam, more stylish slashfest. After a Tokyo Game Show hands-on, Polygon describes Gundam Rogue Orbit as a high-mobility melee action game that feels like Armored Core energy crossed with Devil May Cry panache — without Soulslike brutality.

What stood out in the demo

Sword, lance, and whip-sword kits hit with flashy priority; boosting and shooting can overheat your suit, but the build reportedly stays forgiving. The TGS demo locked players into pre-built assemblies, so deep customization remains a question mark until launch — but the pitch is a new-player-friendly Gundam entry that doesn’t demand five decades of Universal Century homework.

Platforms and date

Release target: March 5, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S. If the full game keeps the demo’s fluidity, it could be one of 2027’s cleaner mech-action swings.
