Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]: Oct 6 Early Access vs Oct 8 Street Date, and Which Platform Keyblade You Get

Square Enix is finally putting the Dark Seeker arc on the current living-room platforms in one SKU. KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] packs the HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX set, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III with the Re Mind expansion into a single $74.99 purchase for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Steam still selling the same stack as KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE. The confusing part is not the contents. It is the calendar: Xbox Wire and the PS5 / Xbox storefronts list an October 6 unlock, while Square Enix’s own collection page and the Nintendo eShop still say October 8.

That gap is not a typo so much as early access meeting street-date marketing. Both the PlayStation Store and Xbox store cards say players who preorder by 11:59 p.m. on October 7 get 48 hours of early access, and both list a release date of October 6. Nintendo’s Switch 2 page has no matching early-access line and simply reads “Releases 10/8/26.” Read together, the clean owner picture is digital PS5 and Xbox owners unlocking around Tuesday if they are in the preorder window, with Switch 2 and the broader marketing street date sitting on Thursday.

Square Enix also flags a 50 percent digital discount for players who already own INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE on Nintendo Switch Cloud, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, or who own the matching individual digital collections on those platforms. That discount applies to digital preorders and post-launch digital purchases of the new native versions, which is the single most useful line on the page if you already paid for the cloud or last-gen stacks.

Platform matrix: dates, Keyblades, and Play Anywhere

Platform Listed release U.S. price Exclusive Keyblade Extra detail
PlayStation 5 October 6, 2026 (store) / Oct 8 marketing $74.99 Midnight Blue 48-hour early access if preordered by Oct 7, 11:59 p.m.
Xbox Series X|S + PC October 6, 2026 (Xbox Wire / store) $74.99 Phantom Green Xbox Play Anywhere; same early-access window wording
Nintendo Switch 2 October 8, 2026 $74.99* Long Night No early-access line on the eShop card we checked
Steam Already sold as INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE — — Square Enix points PC owners at the existing Steam SKU
*Switch 2 digital pricing follows the shared $74.99 collection MSRP cited on Xbox Wire and PlayStation storefronts; confirm live eShop checkout before buying. The Keyblade split is easy to miss if you only read one store page. PlayStation’s listing promises Midnight Blue, Xbox’s card promises Phantom Green, and Nintendo’s Switch 2 page promises Long Night. None of those cosmetics change the game list, but they do matter if you care about platform-exclusive flair or plan to screenshot loadouts later.

Owner fork before Tuesday’s launch pile

Tuesday, October 6 is already crowded. Gears of War: E-Day lands on Game Pass the same morning, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a $59.99 retail buy the same day. Kingdom Hearts is the long-campaign option in that stack, not a same-weekend nibble. If you are an Xbox player who still wants Sora’s full arc, Play Anywhere is the practical reason to buy on Xbox or PC once rather than twice. If you are a Switch 2 household waiting for a portable Dark Seeker binge, Thursday’s eShop date is the one that matches Nintendo’s listing. If you already own Integrum or the old digital collections, check the 50 percent upgrade before you drop full price on a library you partly paid for.

If you are… Suggested move Why
New to the saga on a current console Buy the $74.99 collection on your primary platform One SKU covers 1.5+2.5, 2.8, and III + Re Mind
Prior Integrum / cloud / last-gen digital owner Confirm the 50% digital upgrade at checkout Square Enix’s discount language is explicit for those libraries
Xbox / PC player who wants day-and-date early access Preorder before Oct 7, 11:59 p.m. for the 48-hour window Matches Xbox Store and Xbox Wire’s October 6 listing
Switch 2-first household Plan on the October 8 eShop date Nintendo listing has no early-access clause
Already spending Tuesday on E-Day / Galactic Racer Queue KH for the weekend after Oct 8 This is a multi-dozen-hour saga, not a short arcade session

None of this invents a new feature Square Enix did not publish. It just lines up the store dates, the Keyblade cosmetics, and the upgrade path in one place so you are not surprised when a friend on Xbox is playing Tuesday night while your Switch 2 download still says Thursday. Check the live storefront for your region before you preorder, especially if you already own pieces of the saga digitally and want that 50 percent path to apply cleanly.
