Xbox’s late-September Game Pass calendar still has a big day-one left after this week’s Dune and Well Dweller landings. Per Xbox Wire’s September 2026 Wave 2 post, Minecraft Dungeons II arrives on September 29 for Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass—day one.
Mojang’s sequel pitch is a new dimension called The Sift: uncharted lands, unfamiliar threats, fresh gear customization, and co-op dungeon crawling built for the Pass habit of “grab friends and jump in.” The reveal and gameplay trailers already circulating from the Xbox Games Showcase set the tone; Sept. 29 is when the tile becomes a download.
Why this Pass date matters mid-gen

Minecraft Dungeons II is not a prestige single-player exclusive. It is infrastructure software for Game Pass: approachable, stateful, and easy to convert into multiplayer nights. Stacking it at the end of September—right after Mad King Redemption (Sept. 23) and Black Ops 6’s Premium-tier Pass move (Sept. 25), and a week before Gears of War: E-Day’s Oct. 6 day-one—keeps the service loud while first-party studios argue identity elsewhere.
For subscribers who already cleared the original Dungeons loops, The Sift is the reason to reinstall. For everyone else, day-one Pass pricing is the reason not to wait for a sale.
Leaving September 30 — clear the queue

The same Wave 2 bulletin lists a meaningful leaving Sept. 30 cut. If any of these are still unfinished, the clock is under eight days:
- Atomfall
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
- Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition
- Little Rocket Lab
- Sifu
- SOPA: Tale of the Stolen Potato
- Sworn
- Terminull Brigade
Sifu and Little Nightmares II Enhanced are the obvious “finish before they go” picks for most libraries; Atomfall is the newer survival curiosity that may still be mid-run for Wave 1 players. Xbox’s standard advice applies: buy at the member discount if you want to keep them past the delist.
How to play the week
Practical Pass week: clear or purchase leaving titles before Sept. 30, then swap install space to Minecraft Dungeons II on Sept. 29. Mad King Redemption’s Sept. 23 drop is a short beat-’em-up palate cleanser if you want something smaller between now and the Minecraft sequel. The Wave 2 sheet already did the scheduling work—subscribers just have to respect the dates.
