Nintendo just made the Switch 2 pitch a lot clearer for anyone shopping this fall: two official hardware bundles that pair the new hybrid with big multiplayer games, plus a short Nintendo Switch Online membership baked in.
Mario Kart World bundle lands late September
The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle is slated to arrive in late September for a suggested $549.99. Nintendo says that price saves about $37.98 versus buying the system, the full Mario Kart World download, and a 3-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership separately.
Mario Kart World is framed as the open-road evolution of the series — sprawling connected courses you can race hard or explore at a cruise. For a console still early in its lifecycle, bundling the flagship racer is the classic Nintendo launch-window move.
Sports Resort bundle hits with the game on October 22
On October 22, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches exclusively on Switch 2 — and so does the matching bundle. The Switch 2 + Sports Resort package is priced at $529.99 (about $27.98 off à la carte), again including a 3-month Online membership and a full download of the game.
Sports Resort returns players to Wuhu Island with twelve motion-control sports, from boxing and archery to lighter activities like jump rope and prop plane. Nintendo is positioning it as the living-room party pack for the new hardware.
Why it matters
As of September 1, a standard Switch 2 lists at $499.99. These bundles are less about discounting the console itself and more about locking in software attach rates — Mario Kart for the racing crowd, Sports Resort for couch multiplayer. If you were waiting for an “official” reason to buy beyond the barebones SKU, Nintendo just handed you two.
