Pit of Goblin arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 3 with room for six players online. If your usual group has more than four people, that larger party is the useful detail to take into your next game-night conversation.
There’s a different kind of date to watch in the same week: Football Manager 27’s free PC and Mac preview ends on November 3, while its console release is scheduled for November 10. These announcements ask you to make different decisions. One is about organising a group; the other is about keeping a trial deadline separate from the version you actually want to buy.
Get the group together first
Friendly Foe’s console announcement describes Pit of Goblin’s expansion from four to six players. The PlayStation Store listing confirms support for six online players, and the Xbox Store lists two-to-six-player online co-op.
The game sends your goblins into dangerous dungeons to gather food and loot. That shared task is a useful starting point for choosing your group: do you want everyone working carefully together, or are you happy with a session that goes wrong because someone gets distracted? Agreeing on that beforehand may matter more to your evening than choosing a game from its trailer alone.
Xbox players should check their existing subscription before buying. Xbox Wire’s release schedule marks Pit of Goblin for Game Pass, and the store also lists subscription access. Check the install option on your own account rather than assuming a purchase is necessary.
Keep the preview and console dates separate
Sports Interactive’s free-play announcement sets the FM27 cutoff at 6 p.m. GMT on November 3. Its Launch Preview FAQ confirms that this preview is for PC and Mac, and that saves can continue into the paid preview and full release. Plan to continue that career on PC or Mac rather than assuming it can move to the console edition.
| Date | What changes | What to plan |
|---|---|---|
| November 3 | Pit of Goblin launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | Arrange your online group and check access before purchasing |
| November 3, 6 p.m. GMT | FM27’s free PC/Mac preview ends | Decide whether you want continued access; keep your career save |
| November 10 | FM27 Console’s announced Xbox/PS5 release | Use this date if you want to play on a console |
The console date comes from the studio’s platform announcement and SEGA’s launch release. Don’t read the PC preview’s availability as an early console launch.
If you’ve already started an FM27 career, use your remaining free time to answer a buying question rather than race through another season. Are you enjoying the decisions enough to return? You don’t need to restart your save simply because the free period ends, and you don’t need to buy immediately just because you’ve put time into it.
For your next console session, organise the Pit of Goblin group first. For Football Manager, choose the platform you want to keep playing on before letting an expiring PC trial rush the purchase.
