Sony locked the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October this morning. From Tuesday, October 6 through Monday, November 2, members can claim F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, according to today’s PlayStation Blog post. VGC and Gematsu both mirror the same three-game slate and dates.
The useful part for owners is not the press-blurb parade. It is which console each title needs, how long the September backlog stays claimable, and which Plus-only HorrorFest packs land in the same window.
October Monthly Games at a glance

| Game | Platforms in the lineup | What Sony highlights |
|---|---|---|
| F1 25 | PS5 | Career and My Team 2.0, plus F1 World squad multiplayer against AI |
| Hunt: Showdown 1896 | PS5 | Extraction shooter for solo play or up to three Hunters on a team |
| Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 | PS5 and PS4 | Voxel EDF co-op; four-player online and two-player local split-screen |
Two of the three games are PS5-only in this drop. PS4 owners still get World Brothers 2, which is also the only title here with local split-screen called out in Sony’s post. If your household still shares a PS4 as a secondary console, that is the October claim that travels.
Calendar: September leftovers, October claims, HorrorFest packs

| Date (2026) | What happens | Who should care |
|---|---|---|
| Monday, October 5 | Last day to add September Monthly Games: Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, Chained Echoes | Anyone who has not claimed September yet |
| Tuesday, October 6 | October Monthly Games become available; Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars arrive on Sony Pictures Core for Plus members | All Plus tiers that receive Monthly Games |
| October 1 | Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle for Plus members | Warzone players who already own the base game |
| October 6 | Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack for Plus members | Players claiming Hunt from the Monthly slate |
| October 7 | Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt + 5 Tier skips Pack | Overwatch 2 players; base game required |
| Monday, November 2 | October Monthly claim window ends | Claim before this date; kept games stay playable while subscribed |
VGC’s write-up repeats the usual Plus rule that is easy to forget in the rush: once you claim a Monthly Game, you keep it for as long as you stay on any PlayStation Plus tier. Letting October 6 pass without claiming F1 25 or Hunt is the actual miss, not whether you finish either campaign that week.
Sony’s post is also clear that Monthly lineups can differ by region. If your storefront shows a substitute title on October 6, treat the local listing as the source of truth.
