Sony has not announced a PlayStation Stars successor—but pieces of something called Wallet Credits are showing up in the wild on the PlayStation Store.
Kotaku and Push Square, amplifying finds from PlayStation Lifestyle and Reddit, describe select shoppers seeing checkout language that purchasing certain games includes a Wallet Credit reward. One widely shared UK example tied roughly $10 (with UK reports of about £10) to a purchase of The Blood of Dawnwalker, with the credit reportedly landing on the account immediately after buy.
Who is seeing it—and on which games

This does not look like a global, every-account rollout. Push Square could not reproduce the offer broadly and described it as served to a select set of users. Community reports have also mentioned titles such as Star Wars: Zero Company, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Halloween: The Game, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, and Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush in connection with the banner or credit language. Offer windows in some screenshots point toward late September (including copy referencing an end around 9/29/2026).
A stub Wallet Credits app has been spotted on the PS Store earlier in 2026 as “announced” but not downloadable—another breadcrumb without an official FAQ.
Stars context, carefully

PlayStation Stars wound down through 2025, and one common criticism was that it lived mostly in the mobile app instead of the console store. Wallet Credits, if this is the early shape of a replacement, at least appears inside the PS Store purchase flow. That is interesting product design—even while Sony stays silent.
Kotaku says it has contacted PlayStation for comment. Until Blog or support docs land, treat this as an emerging or targeted test, not a finished loyalty relaunch.
Why digital buyers care
Even a ten-dollar store credit attached to a full-price digital buy changes the habit math: the next purchase starts with a head start. That is exactly why fans are reading this as a soft answer to post-Stars emptiness and to ongoing digital-vs-physical pricing arguments. It is also why restraint matters—screenshot culture can outrun policy.
Bottom line: Wallet Credits are appearing for some shoppers on some games, with Dawnwalker as the clearest public example. Official rules, regions, and permanence are still TBD.
