Buying all three Resident Evil remakes on Switch 2 this week costs $89.77 on the US eShop if you catch the launch sale — not the $119.97 sticker total. Digital copies unlock Friday, Oct 16. Boxed versions wait until Thursday, Jan 29, 2027. Prices, discount end times, file sizes and early performance notes were verified on Oct 13, 2026, at 9:50 a.m. PT.

What Friday actually costs

Capcom is selling the three games separately. There is no trilogy bundle on the US eShop. Each listing is already marked down through the sale window that ends Nov 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT (the store's discountPriceEnd is Nov 8, 2026, 07:59:59 UTC).

Game (Switch 2) Regular Sale (through Nov 7 PT) Est. download
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition $39.99 $29.99 14.0GB
Resident Evil 3 $29.99 $19.79 12.9GB
Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition $49.99 $39.99 29.0GB
All three $119.97 $89.77 ~55.9GB

Those sizes match the North American eShop estimates Nintendo Everything and Nintendo Life rounded the same way. Together they are still smaller than Modern Warfare 4 alone (~84.9GB). Capcom's Japan release notes the same digital date, the same Jan 29, 2027 package date, and a ¥1,000-off window through Nov 7.

Deluxe and Gold matter. RE2 Deluxe folds in costume and weapon extras plus the 1998 soundtrack toggle. RE4 Gold adds Separate Ways, The Mercenaries, extra costumes and weapons, and the treasure-map expansion. RE3 is the lean listing: the campaign plus a classic Jill costume and Carlos hairstyle. Resistance, the multiplayer mode that shipped with RE3 on other platforms, is not part of the Switch 2 page.

Handheld and docked, kept separate

Early coverage is clearer if you split how people actually play.

Handheld. Destructoid's Oct 13 hands-on says all three feel smooth at a solid 60 FPS with DLSS upscaling, and that fidelity loss versus other platforms is hard to spot without a side-by-side. The writer still prefers a Pro Controller grip for these third-person shooters and calls handheld "a bit different and less enjoyable" for that reason, not because the image falls apart. PCMag's Switch 2 review (also updated Oct 13) says RE2 and RE3 stuck to the ~60 FPS target in its play, while RE4 dipped in hectic fights — especially Mercenaries. Qualbert's Tokyo Game Show preview called the frame rate uncapped on RE2/RE3 and noted RE4's drops were more pronounced but stayed above 30 FPS in the demo.

Docked / TV. The same hands-ons treat docked play as the cleaner control setup (Pro Controller, bigger screen) rather than a second performance profile Capcom published. Neither Destructoid nor PCMag posted separate docked frame-time charts. What they do confirm across modes: HDR support, and on at least RE4, Joy-Con motion / gyro aiming options. Capcom has not posted official target resolutions for either mode.

If you want the remakes before Halloween and you are fine with digital, the sale math is simple: buy before the Nov 7 PT cutoff. If you want a box on the shelf, Capcom's calendar points to Jan 29, 2027 — and it has not said whether those North American packages are full Game Cards or Game-Key Cards. Until that is clear, Friday's download is the only day-one path Capcom and Nintendo have fully listed.
