The Wolf Among Us Remastered will offer a 50% launch discount to players who own the original digitally on Xbox One. New Xbox buyers will receive 20% off. The useful step before its October 29 launch is checking which edition and account you already own, rather than buying another copy to qualify.

Telltale's launch-discount terms distinguish eligible digital purchases from physical copies, which don't qualify. That makes the library entry more important than simply remembering that you've played the game. Check your purchase history rather than assuming an old disc or a different account will unlock the offer.

Check the account before comparing prices

Pure Xbox's report corroborates the Xbox percentages and the qualifying Xbox One digital edition. Don't assume an Xbox 360 purchase satisfies that stated requirement. If your copy came through somebody else's account, check the account that actually made the purchase before planning around the owner price.

Prima Games' discount breakdown also confirms the October 29–November 12 promotion and the different PS5 subscription tiers. These are the announced offers, not a price we've redeemed or tested:

Platform and membershipEligible digital ownerNew buyer
Xbox50% off; original Xbox One digital purchase20% off
PS5 with PlayStation Plus50% off; original PS4 digital purchase20% off
PS5 without PlayStation Plus30% off; original PS4 digital purchaseNo launch discount

Use the same platform store and account that bought the original. Telltale says Xbox applies the owner reduction at checkout. Before paying, check both the game edition and the final amount shown, especially if you have used more than one account over the years.

Compare the displayed price in your own region and currency. An advertised percentage isn't a reason to accept an unexpected total. Check your store's own terms and cutoff before relying on a deadline. Don't leave the purchase decision until the last moment of November 12.

The PS5 membership split is worth checking if you already have eligible purchases on more than one platform. Compare the price you can actually obtain with the subscriptions you already hold; don't treat the largest advertised percentage as a reason to add a subscription you otherwise don't want.

Nintendo Switch remains outside this dated release plan: Telltale lists its release as coming soon. Switch owners should wait for a dated release announcement rather than assume October 29 applies. For Xbox and PS5 buyers, establish eligibility now, then inspect the actual offer once it opens before deciding whether another version is worth buying.
