Xbox’s long-rumored answer to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy now has a name, a toast, and a sound. Community researchers and several outlets say the latest Xbox PC app and Game Bar builds include a finished-looking Mythic Achievement unlock animation, and the code behind it points to a base-game completion award rather than a full Gamerscore wipe.
Xbox has not posted an official Mythic launch blog yet. What follows is pieced together from XCT.live’s app teardown, coverage from Windows Central, Pure Xbox, Twisted Voxel, and eXputer, plus Xbox CEO Asha Sharma’s earlier public hint that a Platinum-style reward was coming later in 2026.
What showed up this week

On September 23, Xbox PC app build 2610.1000.53.0 shipped Mythic badge art, unlock sound, a BaseGame progress bar, and an AchievementGroupCompletion notification path, according to XCT.live. Dataminer @klobrille posted the name, symbol, and sound the same day. Twisted Voxel and eXputer followed on September 26 with fresh looks at the toast animation circulating from PC app and Game Bar preview builds, including clips shared by IdleSloth84_ on X.
XCT.live’s September 26 update adds that Game Bar 7.326.9230.0 introduces an EnhancedAurora toast style with laurels and Mythic glow layers. That is presentation code, not a public server switch. The same write-up says Mythic text is currently English-only inside an app that otherwise ships nine languages, which usually means the feature is still early in its rollout checklist.
How Mythic appears to work

XCT.live’s reading of the shipped app is the clearest primary source on the rules so far:
| Rule | What the app code suggests | Certainty |
|---|---|---|
| What you must finish | Every achievement in the game’s BaseGame group (“original game”) | In app code |
| DLC / add-ons | Labeled “Add-on”; outside BaseGame; do not count | In app code |
| Gamerscore percentage | Counts achievements, not Gamerscore; not a “100% GS” badge | In app code |
| Toast copy | “Unlocked all N achievements in the original game” | In app code |
| Gamerscore value of Mythic | Reported as 0 GS; no reward field found in app | Reported / reading |
| Retroactive grants | Reported yes for games you already completed | Reported |
That BaseGame split is the important correction to early “100% Gamerscore” headlines. Xbox’s existing completion percentage is Gamerscore-based and can show 100% while later achievements remain locked. Mythic, if it ships as coded, tracks its own original-game list instead.
Mythic vs PlayStation Platinum
| PlayStation Platinum | Xbox Mythic (as coded / reported) | |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger | Earn every trophy in the base set for that platform version | Complete BaseGame achievement group |
| DLC trophies / achievements | Separate lists; do not block Platinum | Add-on group; do not count toward Mythic |
| Score value | Platinum trophy itself has no trophy level points in the old sense; list completion is the reward | Reported 0 Gamerscore |
| Official status | Live for years across PS4 / PS5 | App assets ready; feature flag and server group data not live as of XCT’s Sep 23–26 checks |
What is not live yet
XCT.live checked achievements.xboxlive.com on September 23 and found empty groupIds and no completion block, including on recent 2026 unlocks. The public feature-flag service also lacked EnableAchievementGroups, so the app treats Mythic as off even though the animation files are present. In other words, players should not expect a Mythic toast tonight just because Game Bar can draw one.
Sharma’s August comment, reported by Pure Xbox and Twisted Voxel, only promised that the team was “working on something for later this year.” Stallion83’s earlier Alpha Skip-Ahead find of Completed / Incomplete Mythic filters, also via Pure Xbox, fits the same runway: naming and UI first, server data later.
Who this affects
Completionists who already finish base lists should watch for a retroactive Mythic count if Microsoft enables groups for older titles. Players deep into DLC-heavy games need the BaseGame filter, not the Gamerscore percentage, once the feature is on. Everyone else can treat this as platform-meta news until Xbox Wire or Insider notes announce a public toggle.
Until that post lands, the safest framing is simple: Mythic looks real in the client, the unlock fantasy matches what Sharma teased, and the BaseGame rule is the detail worth remembering when the switch finally flips.
