Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is scheduled to launch on November 5, but having a Game Pass subscription isn't the whole access check. The launch listing names Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Before you arrange a puzzle session, check the plan attached to the account and the storefront you'll actually use.
That's the useful thread through this Daily Console Drop: a release calendar needs more than a date. Escape Academy 2 needs an entitlement check, Metaphor: ReFantazio has a specific Switch 2 arrival to plan around, and Edge of Memories belongs in December rather than on an old November shortlist. Those are three different decisions, not three reasons to buy something immediately.
Check access before making plans
iam8bit's Escape Academy 2 page lists November 5 and links the Steam, PlayStation and Xbox versions. Gematsu's launch announcement specifies PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PlayStation Blog announcement also confirms the November 5 PS5 release. Treat that as the scheduled launch date, not a promise that every regional store has unlocked it at the moment you're reading.
For subscribers, Xbox Wire's November lineup names Ultimate and PC Game Pass for the day-one release, matching the plans shown on the Xbox Store listing. Premium and Essential aren't listed for day-one catalog access. If you're on one of those plans, don't mistake the Game Pass logo for confirmation that your account can install it through that subscription.
Our earlier coverage explored the sequel's puzzle options. The practical addition here is simpler: open the listing while signed in, confirm the entitlement and check the download before setting a start time. If it asks you to buy, work out whether that's a plan mismatch or a launch availability issue before paying.
Three dates worth keeping straight
| Date | Game and platform milestone | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| November 5 | Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC | Your store's availability and, if subscribing, Ultimate or PC Game Pass eligibility |
| November 12 | Metaphor: ReFantazio arrives on Switch 2 | That you're looking at the Switch 2 edition when planning a purchase |
| December 3 | Edge of Memories is scheduled for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC | Replace the superseded November 5 date in older calendars |
Sega's Switch 2 announcement and Nintendo's Metaphor listing agree on November 12. That gives you a concrete planning point if this is the version you've been waiting for. A date alone doesn't establish performance or make buying another edition worthwhile; leave those questions open until you have the evidence that matters to you.
Edge of Memories needs the opposite treatment: remove an obsolete reminder. The Nacon release carried by Games Press moved it to December 3, with Gematsu's delay report confirming the change. The original Nacon announcement had named November 5. The move was announced in October, not newly revealed here. An older November 5 listing shouldn't send you hunting for a missing launch download.
Check Escape Academy 2 on your own account, keep November 12 for Metaphor on Switch 2, and move Edge of Memories to December. That small calendar cleanup is more useful than adding another unverified release reminder.
