Wednesday, September 30, 2026 is a housekeeping day for a lot of console owners. Xbox has opened its Disc-to-Digital program to everyone, eight games leave Game Pass tonight, The Pokémon Company has dated a single-cartridge edition of Pokémon Legends: Z-A with its expansion, and Neighbors: Suburban Warfare has left Early Access as a free-to-play release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Disc-to-Digital is now open to all Xbox players
After a testing period with Xbox Insiders that began at the end of August, Microsoft started rolling Disc-to-Digital out to all players on September 29, with the feature arriving through the next system update. The Verge and Windows Central confirmed the wider release, and VGC reports Xbox has been emailing players. Inserting a compatible Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S disc creates a digital license that works like a store purchase, so the game can be installed without the disc and, according to Windows Central, played across the Xbox ecosystem, including cloud streaming and Play Anywhere handhelds.
There is still no official compatibility list. The community-run XCT.live database has checked 1,860 titles and confirms 1,578 as working, with 221 failing. Sega games were added this week after Ubisoft support arrived during the Insider phase. Pure Xbox notes that Square Enix and Bandai Namco are not on board yet, that many early Xbox One pressings from 2013 to mid-2014 fail, and that licensing problems block some games such as Forza Horizon 3. Xbox 360 and original Xbox discs are not supported. If your collection is heavy on those publishers or launch-era discs, check the database before counting on a digital backup.
Last day for eight Game Pass titles
The list Xbox Wire published on September 15 leaves today on Cloud, console and PC. SOPA: Tale of the Stolen Potato briefly vanished from the Leaving Soon row last week, which prompted talk that it might stay, but it is back on the list and is going with the rest. Members get a discount of at least 20 percent on these games until they leave. For a baseline, here is what Steam’s U.S. store was charging this morning.
| Leaving Game Pass today | Steam U.S. price (Sep 30) |
|---|---|
| Atomfall | $49.99 |
| Sifu | $39.99 |
| Little Nightmares II | $29.99 |
| SWORN | $10.53 (66% off $30.99) |
| SOPA: Tale of the Stolen Potato | $19.99 |
| Little Rocket Lab | $12.99 (35% off $19.99) |
| Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light | $9.99 |
| Terminull Brigade | Listed free on Steam |
Steam’s SWORN sale is steeper than the 20 percent member discount, so PC players who want to keep it should compare before buying on Xbox. Yesterday’s finish list covers the departures in more detail.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A gets a complete Switch 2 cartridge
The Pokémon Company announced today that Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension arrives on Thursday, October 29. The base game and the Hoopa-led Mega Dimension expansion share one game card, which IGN and Polygon both highlight as good news for physical collectors, since Mega Dimension previously shipped only as a download. The card also runs on an original Switch, but without the Switch 2 enhancements. Buyers receive a Mystery Gift code for 100 Ultra Balls. No price has been announced yet. Players who already own the game and the DLC digitally gain little here beyond the bonus code.

Neighbors: Suburban Warfare reaches 1.0 as a free game
Copenhagen studio Invisible Walls launched version 1.0 of its team-based house-wrecking brawler on September 29. It is now free on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with crossplay, according to the studio’s press release and Gematsu. The game had cost $9.99 in Steam Early Access since April 17, 2025. Version 1.0 adds a new hero named Gwen, a Suburban House map, a Practice vs. AI option and a reworked Destruction Mode. Early Access buyers get the new Neighborhood Pass for free. It is worth tempering expectations, though: Steam user reviews over the last 30 days sit at Mixed, with 51 percent positive, against 67 percent across the game’s full history. Since it costs nothing, a launch-week session with friends is a low-risk way to decide.
