Friday, October 2, 2026 is a good day to check what your console will actually let you play this weekend. Xbox has opened five Ubisoft games to every signed-in member through Sunday with no Game Pass required, Double Fine’s Keeper slides into Game Pass Premium today, Ace Combat 8 is live worldwide after the Americas unlocked yesterday afternoon, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 now has a hard October 15 Game Pass exit date.
Ubisoft Free Play Days run through Sunday
Xbox Wire’s Free Play Days post puts Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and The Crew Motorfest in front of every Xbox member from Thursday, October 1 through Sunday, October 4. Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential are not required. On console, open the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and scroll to Free Play Days; on the web, each Xbox.com details page sends you to the Microsoft Store once signed in. Progress, Gamerscore, and achievements carry over if you buy during the window.
Xbox Wire flags limited-time discounts that vary by title and region. Cross-checking HappyGamer and GAMINGbible against those store callouts gives U.S. digital prices worth confirming before Sunday night:
| Free Play Days title | Sale price (U.S.) | List |
|---|---|---|
| Far Cry 6 | $8.99 | $59.99 |
| Assassin’s Creed Odyssey | $11.99 | $59.99 |
| Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora | $16.49 | $29.99 |
| The Crew Motorfest | $47.99 | $59.99 |
| Skull and Bones | $4.49 (GAMINGbible) | $29.99 |
If you do not have Game Pass and want a long single-player weekend, Far Cry 6 and Odyssey are the obvious starts. Avatar is the cut Xbox Wire also lists at $16.49.
Keeper joins Game Pass Premium today
Double Fine’s wordless lighthouse adventure Keeper is available on Game Pass Premium as of October 2, on top of the Ultimate and PC Game Pass access it has held since its October 2025 launch. Pure Xbox and GameRant both mark today’s Premium add for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Steam still lists a $19.99 base price (currently $13.99 at 30% off), so Premium-only subscribers who skipped it on Ultimate can play without a separate purchase.

GameRant notes Double Fine left Xbox Game Studios over the summer; Keeper itself remains on the service. If you subscribe at Premium, today is when the lighthouse shows up in your library.
Ace Combat 8 is live worldwide
Standard Edition Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is no longer an Americas-only unlock. PlayStation Blog and Bandai Namco set the global times at October 1, 3:00 p.m. PT for the Americas and October 2, midnight CEST / 7:00 a.m. JST for Europe and Japan. Steam’s U.S. page still shows $69.99 with no launch-day discount this morning. Yesterday’s editions and unlock-time owner guide covers Standard vs Deluxe, Ace Pass tiers, and which pre-order bonuses cut off once Standard opened.
Thirteen days to finish Clair Obscur on Game Pass
TrueAchievements and Pure Xbox both put the next Game Pass exit wave on October 15: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Crime Scene Cleaner, Donut County, Evil West, Pacific Drive, The Casting of Frank Stone, and Nova Roma (PC). Pure Xbox notes at least 20% discounts on leaving titles through that date. Expedition 33 is the calendar problem — TrueAchievements estimates a full achievement run at 60–80 hours, hard to finish in two weekends if you are also in E-Day early access. Donut County remains the short Mythic for an evening clear before the 15th.
| Leaving Oct 15 | Platforms | Priority note |
|---|---|---|
| Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 | Console, PC, Cloud | Long RPG — start now or plan to buy |
| A Plague Tale: Requiem | Console, PC, Cloud | ~20–25 hr finish window |
| Donut County | Console, PC, Cloud | Short Mythic / evening clear |
| Pacific Drive, Evil West, others | Varies; Nova Roma PC-only | Mid-length lists before the 15th |
