Sunday, October 4, 2026 is a last-chance day on Xbox and a one-day warning for PlayStation Plus members. Ubisoft’s Free Play Days window closes tonight, September’s monthly games leave the claim shelf tomorrow, and the next day-one Game Pass cluster is already locked for Tuesday through Thursday.
Ubisoft Free Play Days end tonight
Xbox Wire still lists Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and The Crew Motorfest as free for every signed-in Xbox member through Sunday, October 4, with no Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential required. T3’s weekend check treats access as ending at the close of Sunday, so finish installs before the day flips in your region rather than assuming a Monday morning grace period.
If you are mid-campaign and want to keep the save, buy before the window closes. Progress, Gamerscore, and achievements carry over when you purchase, per Xbox Wire. The practical U.S. buy-to-keep picks remain Far Cry 6 at $8.99 (T3 and HappyGamer against Xbox Wire’s “up to 85% off” callout) and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at $16.49 on Xbox Wire’s own store card. Our October 2 Daily Drop already logged the full five-title sale table, including Odyssey at $11.99 and Motorfest at $47.99. Confirm those prices on your signed-in Xbox store before you tap buy. Players who would rather subscribe than own have a second path: T3 notes that all five titles sit in Ubisoft+ Classics for Game Pass Ultimate after Free Play Days end.
Monday is the last day to claim September’s PS Plus games
PlayStation Blog’s October monthly-games post sets Monday, October 5 as the cutoff to add Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes to your library. You only need to add each title on the PS5 or PS4 Store; the download can wait. Tuesday, October 6 then opens F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 through Monday, November 2.
For Extra and Premium subscribers watching a soft Essential month, GameRant’s October 4 note is the useful calendar update: Mycopunk, the Devolver Digital co-op looter shooter, lands day one in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on October 20 at a $14.99 retail price on PS5 and PC, matching Devolver’s confirmation covered by VGChartz. That puts the first confirmed Extra headliner two weeks after Tuesday’s Essential refresh.

Three day-one Game Pass unlocks land this week
Pure Xbox’s October 4 roundup locks three confirmed day-one Game Pass titles for the next few days, and Xbox Wire’s Next Week on Xbox post from October 2 supplies the store prices and Play Anywhere tags. Gears of War: E-Day joins Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Tuesday, October 6; Pure Xbox notes that day-one status tracks the standard edition release even though early access started October 1. Echo Weaver ($19.99) and Neon Abyss 2 both arrive day one on Thursday, October 8 on Ultimate and PC Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere. Echo Weaver already has a free demo on the Xbox Store if you want a preview before Thursday.
| Title | Date | Game Pass | Store (U.S.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gears of War: E-Day | Tue Oct 6 | Ultimate, PC | $69.99 |
| Echo Weaver | Thu Oct 8 | Ultimate, PC | $19.99 |
| Neon Abyss 2 | Thu Oct 8 | Ultimate, PC | day one / 1.0 |
Same Tuesday also unlocks STAR WARS: Galactic Racer at $59.99 and KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] at $74.99 with Xbox Play Anywhere on Xbox Wire’s calendar. Those are buy-to-own unlocks rather than Game Pass day ones; our Kingdom Hearts Collection launch guide covers the Oct 6 early-access versus Oct 8 street-date fork.
